Dear Sir/Madam
Nerys Hurford Cyf/Ltd, Interpretation and Translation Services, 8
Clos Llewelyn, Creigiau, Cardiff, CF15 9JR
The WLGA engages Nerys Hurford to undertake Simultaneous Welsh
Translation Services for our politicial meetings, conferences and events.
Nerys undertakes this work to a very high standard, and is meticulous in
her preparation. Her simultaneous Welsh translation is exceptional as she is
able to put inflection into her translation which helps convey the speakers’
meaning; a monotone delivery is very hard to listen to for extended periods,
and I am very pleased to confirm that this is never an issue at our meetings.
In conclusion, I am very happy to recommend Nerys Hurford Cyf/Ltd
Interpretation and Translation Services.
Yours sincerely
Susan Perkins

Personal Reference provided by Simon Williams, Governor at Ysgol Gyfun
Gymraeg Glantaf:
“Nerys has acted as a simultaneous Welsh-English translator to the
governing body of Ysgol Gyfun Gymraeg Glantaf for the l three-year period that
I have been a Parent Governor. Nerys’ skills as a translator are exceptional –
highly accurate and with an imperceptible time lag between speaker and
translation, in an environment where there is a lot of technical language. I
have worked with several other translators during my professional life, and
Nerys is by far the best. Nerys also has a very pleasant manner and is very
easy to work with.”
Translation of reference included below from Meri Huws, Welsh Language
Commissioner:
‘During my period of office as Welsh Language Commissioner, Nerys Hurford
has provided simultaneous translation of my contributions scores of times: in
internal committees; while submitting evidence to the Select Committee in
Westminster; when delivering speeches and presenting in conferences large and
small. I have also witnessed her interpreting in the Administrative Court of
Law.
Nerys is incredibly able, knowledgeable and natural in her
interpretation; knowing she is present provides me with an assurance as a
speaker in all situations.
I am more than happy to offer any additional information as required.
Thank you, Meri Huws, Welsh Language Commissioner’
‘ Yn ystod fy nghyfnod fel Comisiynydd y Gymraeg mae Nerys Hurford wedi
fy nghyfieithu ar lafar degau o weithiau : mewn pwyllgorau mewnol; yn cyflwyno
tystiolaeth i Bwyllgor Dethol yn San Steffan; wrth areithio a chyflwyno mewn
cynadleddau bach a mawr. Rwyf hefyd wedi ei gweld yn cyfieithu yn y Llys
Cyfraith Gweinyddol.
Mae Nerys yn anhygoel o abl, deallus a naturiol wrth gyfieithu; mae ei
phresenoldeb hi yn cynnig sicrwydd i mi fel siaradwr ymhob sefyllfa.
Rwyf yn fwy na hapus i gynnig unrhyw wybodaeth ychwanegol fydd angen
Diolch Meri Huws, Comisiynydd y Gymraeg’
