After gaining a degree in Welsh from Cardiff University in 1998, my first translation post was with Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council. During the eight years I worked there, I gained invaluable experience of translating a wide variety of material for all Council departments, as well as an understanding of the workings of local government. I then moved on to a Senior Translator post with Calan Language Services in Cowbridge, where I remained for five years. It was good to experience the different demands of the private sector, especially in such a pleasant location! I am now Senior Translator / Editor with Trosol in Cardiff, translating material for a wide variety of different clients ranging from government agencies to small companies and charities. I have been lucky throughout my career to work with friendly, committed and professional teams who are always ready to help; common traits among those who work in this field.
